Halki is a small and hilly islet, west of Rhodes Island, with wonderful sandy beaches. It is an ideal destination for those who want to spend their holidays away from the stress of modern living.
The only village of the island is called Nimborio. It is an amphitheatrical village, built on the slopes of a hill and consists of tall, two-storey and three-storey renovated, mansions that compose a wonderful, traditional settlement.
The main archaeological interest of the island is the ruins of the medieval castle on the top of a hill beyond the village. Inside the castle you can visit the church of Agios Nikolaos.
Famous Beaches of Chalki Island : Pondamos, Kania, Trachia and Areta.
